Dial House has a varied history. At one time it was two houses with separate stairways to the first floor. It has also been a house and a general store. Following John Wesley's visits to the dale it served as a Methodist meeting place until the local Chapel was built.

The cottage has been redecorated and refurbished in keeping with its nature and age.
On the ground floor there is a living room and dining kitchen with sculleries off each. Upstairs there is a large bedroom, small bedroom and a bathroom.

The cottage is located at the eastern end of the village, approximately 100 yards above the King's Head, on the left.
